How often should you do Pilates?

Updated

Two to three Transformer Pilates classes a week is the rhythm where most women see visible change within a month. Four or five works for members who make KARVE their main training — there is no impact to recover from, only muscle. Once a week maintains strength but changes less.

Once a week: maintain

One 50-minute class a week keeps the strength you have and is a good fit alongside other sport. Results build slowly. Maintain (four classes a month, QAR 590) is designed for this.

Two to three a week: change

This is the sweet spot. Two or three slow, loaded full-body sessions a week, with a day between, is enough stimulus for the legs, glutes, arms and core to firm up within the first month. Define (eight classes, QAR 1,140 a month) covers two a week; three or more is Unlimited territory.

Four to five a week: make it your training

Because Transformer Pilates has no jumping or impact, members can train most days. Alternate harder and lighter sessions — Express Core or Lower Body & Abs on the days after a Full Body class — and keep at least one full rest day.

Fitting it into a Doha week

Most members book fixed weekday slots before or after work, when the timetable is busiest, and use the lighter Friday and Saturday timetable for an extra class. During Ramadan many women move to evening classes; founding members can also freeze a month for Ramadan, travel or injury.

Book up to seven days ahead and cancel up to 12 hours before to keep your credit.
