New to KARVE

First timer? Start here

Your first KARVE class is a 50-minute, full-body workout on the Transformer in a women-only studio, with a female instructor who knows you are new. No experience is needed, nothing is timed, and the spring setting makes every exercise as hard or as easy as you need. Here is exactly what happens, what to bring and the best way to start.

What to expect in your first class

Arrive ten minutes early. The instructor shows you the Transformer — the carriage, the springs, the straps and the platform — and sets you up on a bed near the front.

The class is 50 minutes: a short warm-up, then blocks of slow, loaded movements for legs, core, arms and back. Every exercise has a lighter option; the instructor calls it before the block starts.

You will shake. That is the muscle working under tension, not a sign you are doing it wrong. Most first-timers finish the whole class.

What to wear and bring

Fitted workout clothes that let you move — leggings or shorts and a top that stays put when you are upside down on the carriage.

Grip socks are required in every class for safety on the machine. They are sold at the front desk if you forget yours.

Water and a small towel. Your booking confirmation covers arriving at W Doha and finding the studio on the 29th floor.

The best way to start

The 7 Day All Access pass gives new clients seven days of unlimited classes for QAR 349, starting on your first class. Three classes in the first week is the pattern that sticks.

Book Beginner Transformer for your first one or two classes, then move to Full Body Transformer. Both are on the timetable every day.

If you know you will come three or more times a week, a founding membership at QAR 1,200 a month is the better price and it is locked for life.

Who KARVE is for

Coming back after time off

Low impact and adjustable resistance make it the safest way to rebuild strength, and instructors scale every movement.

Runners, cyclists and gym regulars

Slow, loaded movement finds the stabilising muscles that fast training skips. Expect to be humbled in week one.

Pre- and post-natal

Tell the instructor before class. Most exercises have a supported version; some are swapped. Get medical clearance first.

Never exercised in a studio

Twelve beds, one coach, no mirrors to perform for. Beginner classes run every day.

First-class questions

Is Transformer Pilates good for beginners?
Yes. Resistance is adjustable, every exercise has an easier option and the instructor coaches you by name. Start with Beginner Transformer.
How fit do I need to be?
Not fit at all. The class is hard because it is slow and loaded, not because it is fast. You set the intensity with the springs.
What should I wear?
Fitted workout clothes and grip socks. Grip socks are required and sold at the studio.
How early should I arrive?
Ten minutes before your first class for the machine walk-through. The door closes at the start time.
Can I try one class before the 7 Day pass?
A single class is QAR 175. The 7 Day All Access pass at QAR 349 is unlimited for a week and is usually the better first step.
Is KARVE Doha women-only?
Yes. KARVE Doha is a women-only studio: every member, every class and every instructor. Beginners and regulars share the room; the spring setting and the option called by the instructor are the difference.
Can I train while pregnant?
With medical clearance, yes. Tell the instructor before class so movements can be swapped.
